Before Battlefield 6 Season 2 was pushed back to February 17, the season would have begun yesterday, January 21. While Battlefield 6 players are still waiting to learn what’s coming in the new season, a leak on Reddit has revealed that one of the maps is Hagental Airbase in Bravia.

In the leaked trailer, NATO forces have lost control of Hagental Airbase, and the voiceover warns that they need to take it back or the momentum of the war will go against them. Some fans on Reddit have complained about the apparent size of the map, and that the airbase doesn’t appear to allow jets in battle.

Separately, Battlefield 6’s social channels revealed Contaminated, a new map for the game that’s going to be dropped in Battlefield Labs before it debuts in the primary game. Battlefield Studios also confirmed that it will arrive during Season 2.

The latest community update for Battlefield 6 Season 2 notes that the Contaminated tests are intended to evaluate the way vehicular gameplay on the ground and in the air interact with the game’s infantry combat.

Golmud Railway, a fan-favorite map from Battlefield 4, was also confirmed to be in the works for a future season. Battlefield Studios noted that the team intends “to preserve what made the map so memorable in Battlefield 4, particularly its combined arms gameplay, while improving how it plays and supports Battlefield 6 systems.”

Battlefield 6’s most recent update introduced refined jet combat and improved knife attacks. The Season 1 extension is currently underway, and it will add a new Frostfire bonus path to the current battle pass on January 27.
